How long does it take to make a lithophane?
Production turnaround typically has each order made and shipped within 2-4 business days once the order is confirmed and payment is received.
How do I purchase a lithophane?
Simply click Start My Order at the top of the page and fill out the form, there is no immediate cost to submitting your order. Every order is verified with human eyes to make sure the image is suitable for a lithophane print as well as verifying all information provided. Once the order is approved, an email will be sent to you which includes a payment link. Once an order has been paid, we will begin production within one business day.
How do I specify portait or landscape when purchasing a lightbox lithophane?
We typically determine if your lightbox will be made for portrait or landscape based on the orientation of the photo provided. If you have a particular preference, especially if it differs from your source photo, please specify that in your order under "Additional Notes".
What about your products that require more than one photo? How does that work?
For lanterns, ornaments, and any other products that require more than one photo, the order form will automatically adjust itself to ask for the optimal amount of photographs required for that product. In the case of products like ornaments where your images wrap around, we will stitch the photos together before production. Some cropping and adjustment may be required, we will do our best to keep the focal point of your photo intact (this is why every order is reviewed by human eyes before you are sent a payment link). If you have any preference as to the order the photos are displayed in, cropping areas, etc, please state them in the order form under "Additional Notes".
What type of photo works best for a lithophane?
The best photos for a lithophane feature high contrast and sharp detail, with clear separation between the subject and the background. Close-up shots like high-resolution portraits work exceptionally well, while blurry images or flat, low-contrast scenes struggle to translate into depth and depth detail when lit. During production, we will do our best to make any tweaks to the contrast and brightness of your photo to have the best possible outcome.
